I thought about a but, but not like we have a bugzilla or direct need.
Maybe to query google at best, but we could do that on our own. Not sure
a bot is necessary. As for having IRC experience if you want to be a
channel operator. I do not have a problem with that, and would likely
welcome such. There is not much to do now, but as the channel grows,
that might change.

I don't think there will ever be a video switching board when we go to
broadcast/record meetings. If/when that happens. Still some obstacles to
overcome and issues to address there.

I agree, but it is one of the most popular, if not the most popular.
Gentoo and Ubuntu use it primarily. As well as countless other projects,
xen, radeon, tomcat, and many others just to name a few. The other one
would be oftc, where Debian and others reside :)

No I doubt that will ever happen. FYI Gentoo used to run some chat
servers, and it was to much of a pain to deal with. Rather leave that up
to others who deal with the IRC networks already.

Pretty sure he passed away no? Can't really fault them for that ;)

I haven't seen much change in the ~5 or so years I have been on there.
Though I can't say I pay much attention to how Freenode operates, just
that its there and I can access the channels I need to for work and
other purposes.

Well there will always be conflicts and not everyone can make it to ever
meeting for a variety of reasons. If we get around to recording stuff,
that will become less of an issue. Though don't want people using the
excuse about watching a recording of the presentation as reason not to
attend :)
