Editing per-se is a skill that transcends any knowledge of the physical
technology used. The only difference between film and video editing in
the long run is the mechanics of it. Although such things as Avid do
begin to blow that away.
On the other hand if I was still doing that stuff I would be happier with
the handle of a Moviola or a Steenbeck than some knob ... the little cuts
you get in the tip of your fingers from the film notwithstanding.
I just couldnt be arsed working on TV adverts anymore.
