I like it. I just replied to someone (I top posted too! Maybe that will get
Liam to join. wink).

I don't know if I'll be active. I can't offer much help because I would
always have to say "I'm using a different distro, but used to use
Lubutnu..." That might beg why, and sound less supportive than an active
Lubuntu user. (Might be uncouth.).

The only potential barrier to that forum being more active is that I think
most Lubuntu users find the very-active (official) Ubuntu forums, and go
there. They might not find the .me forum, or realize it's the "official"
forum. It might suffer the same way I think all the Ubuntu* (flavor)
mailing lists suffer. ("Suffer," meaning there's a disconnect between the
more typical/active forum we see with other distros, and the knowledge
experts for that distro who congregate on a mailing list. I don't see that
with other distros, which seems to lead to more participation, more
drive-by users to draw upon.). I'm thinking that still could be an issue
with there being official Ubuntu forums where Lubuntu users go for help,
and then this forum which might seem isolated. Although, I totally
understand and agree with the reason. PHPBB, and other forum apps can be
tedious to work with, navigating all day. The planned ability to integrate
forum with mailing list is definitely worthwhile.

BTW: I don't think "discourse" was the forum app I was thinking of when I
said I had seen forums that could be used as mailing lists (too). I googled
about it back when this discussion occured. I saw Elixer Forum. I'm not
sure if that was it. But, it was the only one I saw. (I didin't see
DIscourse. It could be better for what you want to do. I don't know. I just
wanted to mention that I was thinking of Elixer, perhaps. But, know nothing
about it.).
