Try picking up a shop service manual for a 2002 Corvette. GM owns them but will eventually license it to other publishers. That's why sometimes you have to go to the dealer for service on a newer model car. Apple wants you to go to a tech, and the tech wants you to come to him. Its all about the money. If someone wants to rip his machine apart then they can but should Apple or an authorized tech really help you do that? After it's in 100 pieces and they can't put it together who gets the blame. "I just did what it said in the manual" That is why techs are trained and certified. IMHO
