I don't think this has gotten out of hand at all, in fact in fact I think the opposite is true. Its been quite a lively discussion on a topic that as you say "strikes a cord in many people". The thread hasn't degenerated into a flame war, I don't think anyone has been personally insulted (maybe some close calls), but to me mostly well thought out opinions on both sides. If there are readers out there who are feeling reluctant to post here, they shouldn't this list has the friendliest and most helpful subscribers in the Mac community IMHO. I've never seem anyone get jumped on for a posting here and doubt I ever will.
