Our home is 90 years old, so it did take a while, but certainly not 4-5 hours. More like 2-3, and other folks I know have had a similar experience. We haven't had it go out; it comes with a small UPS battery. Shaw has done a good job of rolling out the service - if it's in your market, it's worth checking out.

Unlike Bree, I think this is a great deal. Shaw's customer service - and price - kick's Telus' ass. There is NO internet/phone interference. The quality is fine. I don't think Bree gets what this service is - it's tied into our home phone line, a complete and transparent replacement for local and long distance service. It's not a computer app/add-on. It runs completely separate from our home internet.

We've had it for about six months, we got it not too long after it was first launched here in Calgary. Works great, no interference with the 'net connection.

Hello Arif,

This is great to know. Thanks for replying.
I have made arrangements to have the digital phone service installed here in Vancouver. I am looking forward to the unlimited long distance calls within North America.

Have you ever had it go out yet ?

What did they have to do when they came to install it at your place ? I was told the tech could be here up to 4-5 hours so it sounds like it's quite a procedure. Do they have to rewire the jacks or what is it that takes that long to install ?

Amber
