Bell here in Ontario charges $25.45 for their base rate (which
includes taxes). $40 seems excessive. This is without call forwarding,
caller id, etc. Paying an extra $300 per year just for "unlimited calling"
doesn't make economic sense for our situation. All the other bells and
whistles would be nice, but aren't really worth the money for us.
I recall the base rate for a phone in rural Manitoba (Pinawa) back
in 1988 or there abouts was only $6 - I wonder what it is there now?
