Bree says, $.25 per LD call via Wintel and Bell local phone service of just under $30 (I think) is cheaper or comparable to the price the VoIP people

I still don't think it's a bad deal for $55.00 a month. I look at my last few Telus bills and note that the base rate is $39.71. For less than $16.00 more, I get unlimited long distance phone calls within North America and only 3 cent a minute calling to the UK. Considering the number of LD calls I make per month to family and friends outside my province, the Shaw route seems to be right for me.

However, it does depend on how many calls you make - if you're just making a few, I think Wintel would probably be a good way to go. For me, Shaw seems more convenient.
