Completely agree. I've seen a good sender (unwisely) split test ESPs, get listed as a snowshoer on Spamhaus but still maintain inbox placement with Gmail. I think sending history, behavioural analytics, being in the address book etc. have much more weight with Google than the content of the subject or body.
