I agree. We might quibble about the criteria, but whether it's a couple of hundred or a couple of thousand revolutionary socialists in the USA, our combined influence on the vote is negligible even if we all align on a single candidate, and our actual votes are meaningless even if we all lived in "swing states." What matters most is what is happening around the elections: Today, like eight years ago, Democratic Party organizers are leading the anti-Trump struggle; in 2017-20, it was the Women's March and today it is 50501. The strategy of both has been to elect a Democratic Party Congress and then Democratic Party President. It is also the political strategy of the US labor bureaucracy and, sadly, the beleaguered federal unionists. That strategy has produced diminishing returns since WW II and is approaching 0 today, considering how Obama and then Biden greased the skids for Trump's return. I'd only add that the Biden reversed few of Trump's executive orders, notably the blockade of Cuba. And his administration met none of the demands of the Women's Movement that helped elect him. Revolutionary socialists compete with the Democratic Party for their working-class base and to direct the movement to fight and weaken the class of billionaires who are behind Trump/MAGA fascism. Our tradition teaches us that this must be done outside the Democratic Party, which is the billionaires' alternative when MAGA fails.
