In the last election, those who at least wanted a hint from the Democratic party candidate were desappointed and shunned -- violently at times including in the "convention." I also not that every time Harris spoke, between nervous giggles and an array of neocons, she explained why we should run the other way -- "a more lethal nation" and other centrist banter. I have to confess that I voted "for" her anyway -- against Trump, as did most actual leftists I know. Communists know, as Gore Vidal once noted, that where parties are concerned we have two right-wings on one corporate beast. The best we can do, in the absence of better alternatives, is to vote tactically.
Harris was the worst candidate the Dems ever ran and she lost by a very narrow margin likely because many people (not just "the left") just couldn't stomach her and because of her support for an ongoing genocide -- that doesn't mean they voted for the crass grifting extortionist. Attempts to libel the "left" for Trump are not deeply thought, don't hold water and strike as the kind of garbage we can expect from corporate centrists. As for elections, we need to protect the possibility of fair elections and put our effort into building a viable alternative to the corporate "parties." As I have previously suggested, I feel the Working Families Party is our best option as a broad front coalition with party status. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
