Anyone here ever taught the concept of recording levels to non-audiophiles?
Or the "mass market" folks?

Me (to my coworker and friends): Yeah, it's cool. But if you really want to
use it to its potential, you should also get a CD player w/ a digital out.
Them: Oh, how much is that gonna cost?
Me: Depends which one you get. There's quite a range of them.
Them: What if I don't?
Me: Well, then you have to fiddle around while you're recording. *explains*

Them #1: Forget it. I've got a burner at home. I'll just get those portable
mp3/cd players.
Them #2: Forget it. I'll get a burner and an mp3/cd player. I can use the
burner more than just for burning mp3s.
Them #3: Forget it. I'll just get <flash memory based mp3 players>. Less
hassles.

True, someone else pointed out that this is strictly from a "PC geek" view
but let's face it, the RIAA wouldn't be so concerned if it were just a few
"PC Geek" trading mp3s. (well.... )
