There are two ways of going about it.
1. Giving credit where it's due, Foxy (old memberof the list, web page
http://www.pipeline.com.au/users/foxy/ ) initally suggested pulsing pin 29
of the ECU to ground upon firing the engine, but the most recent mod is to.
2. Cut the wire to pin #29 (speed sensor), and solder it onto the wire
from pin#17 (dizzy). (SSS charge $70 for this, to solder a bit of wire
inside the ECU)
Basically. the ECU has a stand-still mode where it won't allow RPMS to
exceed 5,200 when the car is stationary. But since you aren't using the
speed sensor, the speed sensor input it left "floating", where it is in an
undetermined state. If left untouched, sometimes the standstill mode cuts
in, sometimes not. Pain in the arse when driving.
Main prob with stock ECU is the connectors to the ECU, can be a bit
"how-your-going". My ecu fuels fine to 11psi (I don't run any higher
without an intercooler, premium ULP does make a difference, believe it or
not, [thanks Terry, I tried it the other day], reports are that the ECU
works O.K. to 14)
Where are you, will have to catch up. I'm in Bligh Park.
