Leighton,
Yes you can but you need a Z20 timing cover because the NAPS/Z cylinder head
has a different shaped seal around the timing cover to head. The 2 litre Z
and L blocks are pretty much identical so the timing cover is a bolt on. To
seal the combustion chambers use a L series head gasket but make sure it has
provision for the teardrop shaped water galleys (I have an old Proseal
gasket with the right shape if that helps) but because the timing cover to
head seal is different, you need to slice the L gasket off at the timing
cover and use the front section from a Z gasket.
Daniel Prior ran twin 45mm Webers on his car and got 96kw at the wheels. I
think with 48's the top end improved a bit and he got a few more horses out
of it.
Ben Pila (http://home.att.net/~jason510/ben.htm) got 100kw and 200Nm at the
wheels, which equates to about 128kw and 256Nm at the flywheel.
