Terry,

I haven't pulled the dash at this stage, and am reluctant to do so at the
moment as the car is in enough pieces already. Is the most likely place for
the diode going to be behind the dash?

I may not even bother with it, as I plan to replace the whole dash any way
with a flat piece of aluminium and the necessary gauges. After all, it is a
race car, and we only do eight meetings a year. To be honest, when your
racing, you don't even notice it.

annoyance than anything more sinister, is this correct? If so I think I can
live with it until I replace the whole dash.
