Title: RE: Unleaded fuel in L20B
I'm not a LPG expert but even the best stellite valve seats have trouble with LPG. You need to use a lube like "Flashlube" which is used by most taxi fleets. I'm not to sure about ULP heads on LPG getting any lube from petrol, I think that must have been on leaded heads. Someone told me a while back that you can use flashlube with ULP to lubricate leaded valve seats too, don't know if it's true or not.

I thought the "brass" ones were bronze?  Or is there brass as well?  I remember reading that to run LPG you need Bronze ones as LPG is worse than Unleaded, ie. steel ones are not enough.  Is this right or are Steel fine for LPG?

    Nick,

The material that the valve seats are made out of determine if an engine is
designed to be run on unleaded or leaded fuel.

Steel hardened seats are required for unleaded, brass, alloy etc require
    lead for lubrication.

    regards
    Terry

When ppl say that the S2 motor won't run on unleaded, what exactly do they
    mean?

My S2 engine runs absolutely fine on regular unleaded, it pings a bit when
it is very hot and pulling hard up a hill in a high gear - but it is better
than almost every other car that I have driven in that respect.
It runs 18 degrees BTDC static timing, twin carbies and is mildly modified.
I have not needed to adjust the valve clearances because of seat wear or
anything, last checked about 6 months ago though!

Of course I use PULP for club motorsport duties.
