In our day if it had a 1600 had a L18 block then it didn't matter much what the capacity was - nearly everyone ran Jackson spec engines that were either 1889cc or 2100cc both of which were more than +60' over the stock L18 bore. Funny thing was they were very strict on little visual things like headers - you could only use Nismo factory or stock SSS (cast) i.e. no H&M 21C's etc.
Did Glenn have a problem with the protests or did his results hold. Protests in motor sport is nothing new, it's when they're upheld you've got a problem and after the event is more than embarrassing for the scrutineering staff. regards Terry -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Richard Clough Sent: Monday, 1 July 2002 10:03 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: HOW BOUT $32000 FOR A DATTO 1600??? The night I watched Glenn run it at the Rally in the Valley, other competitors were queued up at the Clerk of Course door after the event to protest the engine specs. And it didn't have the head spacer then! However it was over 2 liters with a huge throw crank in the L18 Block. ----- Original Message ----- From: "E Smith" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Sunday, 30 June 2002 7:55 AM Subject: RE: HOW BOUT $32000 FOR A DATTO 1600??? > Craig, > CAMS had something to say about it after a few disgruntled punters who had > also spent big bucks got their noses out of joint. > You could legally run an OS GIKEN head if you could ever find one. > Stay tuned for the Rally of Melbourne appearance I guess. > > Cheers > Feral Errol > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > http://www.datrats.com.au/ > > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Craig Overend > Sent: Sunday, 30 June 2002 3:51 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: HOW BOUT $32000 FOR A DATTO 1600??? > > Errol, > I gather this monster datto L18 is supposed to be PRC legal?
