More than likely it is an electrical problem. Look at fuse # 14 rotate or put a new one in there. That's the one that sends 12V to the monovalve to keep it closed. When the fuse goes wonky the monovalve gets no 12V and opens letting hot water through. The AC works as normal but can't overcome the full hot flow of the water. Happened to me just a few weeks ago.

Yeah, it was cooling just fine. She was driving along the road when the vents started blowing hot air. The compressor is clicking on and off while this is happening so I am thinking an electrical glitch.
