Exactly. College is supposed to provide you with an education, training is supposed to show you how to DO things. Different purposes. The education, anyway, was supposed to teach you how to think and how to learn, and to provide an information basis for your thinker to chew on. Medical and law schools, for example, are trade (training) schools. I don't believe, however, that they will accept un-educated pupils. Quite probably because they don't need to. You need to get the right kind of schooling for what you will be doing with your life.
