And not less important - DO NOT CC ME
This is an out-of-touch-with-reality request. I also don't want these CCs
but have no choice. Given that Hamakor's mailing lists do not have a
"Reply-to:" header, the only reasonable way to reply to the mailing list in
most mailers is to press the "reply to all" button, which replies to the
mailing list but also puts any one of the previous posters (like yourself)
on the message.
This is plain wrong. Hamakor mailing lists do not filter the Reply-To
header, and you may set it as you please. I have even set up a facility that
automatically mangles the Reply-to header - send to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or
[EMAIL PROTECTED] if you want to use this facility.
Because of some unexplained cosmological fact, about half of the members
of this list have a twisted sense of reality that causes them to think that
"Reply-to: is considered harmful" (google this phrase for more information).
As long as this is true, and as long as people from this "faction", like Alon,
control the board, don't expect people not to CC you.
I do not have any problem with Reply-To. I have a problem with mailing
lists mangling headers of mail sent by their members. If someone prefers for
some reason not to get direct replies for his mail, they are free to add a
Reply-To header. In fact, the facility I mentioned above is available to
those using legacy e-mail systems that do not support Reply-To.
(if it wasn't obvious, I belong to the other faction. Those who believe that
"Reply-to is considered useful". Again, Google this phrase for more info).
Then you are more than welcome to send a Reply-To header with your
message. The mailing lists do not mangle headers unless specifically
requested.
