I know you are not doing it intentionally but you keep demonstrating
the PR
problem - not mailing list readers nor newspapers readers are the target
audiance for this announcment.
As I see that the audiance is people which are involved and care
about FOSS and
which the use mailing list method drives them away.
I did tell YOU about the archives. I do not know of anyone else who had
any trouble using mailing lists.
Naturaly you don't, that's the result of using mailing list to
comunicate - you don't comunicate with people that don't use mailing lists.
The readers are welcome checking who involved was he thereafter (Ok,
Ok, don't
bother the answer is - he wasn't).
I cannot force people to become involved. More than 90% of the
members and
friends of Hamakor were not involved in w2l. There are many lazy people.
Ram wanted to help but he didn't get the option to do so because you
couldn't and yet can't understand he doesn't use mail (despite the wierd
solution of givving him an address), accusing him of lazyness is not
even funny.
I write this knowing theres not even a slight chance Ram will read it
but
make no mistake Ram's care and scontribution shows well in the JLC
and in
other places. Free (as beer) advertising in FOSS related websites would
have reached him and others.
Free advertising? What do you mean? We did advertise w2l on
FOSS-related
sites. We did put status updated on Whatsup. Why didn't YOU advertise on
FOSS-related sites?
I didn't talk of W2L I talked of the web archives and I did advertise
JLCs W2L series on FOSS related sites (you might want to check which
club has its coming events on the events boards in Whatsup, Linmagazine
and IGLU, you may also check which club had ads in the Tapuz and Nana
forums prior to it's series opening and the instaparty. BTW in Tapuz it
was some tech forum that made my announcment sticky and not the Linux forum)
As you put many efforts in the web archieve I expected you'll announce
them publiclly and get the propper credit but you didn't. Only now I
undrstand why.
I did announce it as publically as I can. I sent a notice to all
members
and friends of Hamakor which did not unsubscribe. I told the ONE
person who
asked for it and I put a link on our website. Do you have any idea how
much
work that took. Nothing is enough to satisfy you. If you think the
archives
are important, why didn't YOU send a message about it to Whatsup? I AM
NOT
YOUR SLAVE.
The web archives are not "my interest" - its Hamakors interest and as
you stated some posts ago you are by far a great supporter of it.
I put ads on things I'm involved in but I wouldn't steal your credit buy
advertising the web archives my self and to be true I realy didn't
undersatnd why you didn't ad it but addopting Hamakor spirit I favored
waiting to be addressed then initiating a move.
And BTW I'm too not a slave, and it feels good :)
