I strongly disagree. The series in all clubs is aimed at the general population who are advanced computer users (by "advanced" I mean know how to install and manage a home Windows computer). Students are of course a subset of this population, but certainly not the primary target. We tried various forms of advertising. In Haifux we had several high school students, adults, and also some university students. One major effort for pushing the series was in a Sci-Fi convention. We urged the community to invite their family and friends. The only club I know of that decided to ignore the rest of the activity and publicize only its own lectures was JLC, and that's a shame. Instead of assuming your target audience is different, you could have tried to cooperate.
