that was way before (almost two weeks) the general site was updated.
Maybe you even know of http://linmagazine.co.il/node/view/11839

I remember that. Instead of notifying the W2L webmaster of your schedule, you opened a competing site and sent a link, without any action item for the
webmaster to update anything.

Heh, I well recall you thought it was competing and that got you or Shlomi or whoever to update the general site in a lightning speed of t_w_o _ w_e_e_k_s

In addition I'll insert those lectures to our schedule

the format used by the other clubs).

Note the date : 15.09
I've updated the JLC site on the 28.09
The general site was updated about 10 days after that.

No he was not. He was sent to me. I told him I'd rather that he won't do his site in PHP, because it was unnecessary in this case. So Ram automatically deduced that the HTML should be written by hand, and as a result asked me if he can do it with frames. However, frames are Evil ( http://www.html-faq.com/htmlframes/?framesareevil ) and I told him to avoid it. I said that he should generate the web-site's HTML instead, using a pre-rendering program, and after consulting with Alon, it was decided that we _will_ allow him to use PHP. (Due to his cluelessness) However, we did not hear from him since.

need I say more?!

I am not sure who pointed Ram to Shlomi Fish, but that most surely was a
mistake.

No it's not. All of this took one or two days. Ram had plenty of time to revamp the site, but he did not move a muscle.

After you wasted two days of his time did you call him again and asked him for help?

The moment I heard Ram wanted to redesign the W2L I told him to go ahead. However, I'm a firm believer in one bird in the hand is better that two on the tree. That's why I left the current W2L site online, waiting for Ram to
build the replacement. I'm still waiting.

Well, looks aside, you should put the contact information in the bottom.

Why? and maybe this "looks aside" is what made the general W2L site what it is.

Did you ask a marketing professional about which site looks better? Did
you ask the users? Do you have any shred of evidence that the design of the JLC site is "more inviting" other than that a person from your club designed
it?
Hoever, this is not the question. The JLC site has one problem for being used as the primary W2L site, and that is that it speaks only about JLC. I'd prefer an ugly text file or even a flash abomination with infomation about
all the clubs, than a site that ignores everything except JLC. If the JLC
site (or a site with similar design) would have had all the information
people need in order to know when and where the lectures are, it would have been the main W2L site. Simple as that. I do not like duplication of effort. That's the reason the coordinated site was started on the first place. It's
a shame the people at JLC chose to build their own site instead of
collaborating with other clubs to build one site everybody will enjoy.

This site was never ment to be the main site.
No other club ask to get the design or to include it's details in the JLC site.
Haifux were in stages of getting up a new site for their series.
It's a shame people can't get the "main site" updated for a month.
It's a shame I was asked to take the site down with no other alternative in reach. this lousy managing of the main site caused direct demage to the JLC efforts in this W2L series. It's a shame I couldn't adress the Jerusalem municipality and refer them to a site presenting teh series untill it was too late.

Right, but at least have a page for International surfers. And you could have a bi-lingual site. Also, aren't there many Jeruxers who are native English speakers?

Can you refer me to IGLUs Hebrew pages?
I know a JLCer ( :P) who's native Spanish speaker, will it do?

An English site is a waste of time, but one page in English with general
information should be available as a courtesty to international viewers.

I concidered an English page several times and might even get to make one someday.
I yet wonder where is the single Hebrew page on IGLU ;)
