I can't speak for those particular systems, but one of the best NICs for
PCI machines (assuming you don't need BNC) is the NetGear FA-310TX,
which is a 10/100 autosensing PCI bus mastering card that sells for under
$20.

If this is the same case I was answering earlier, I believe the PC isn't
hearing anything from the Amiga. If you're saying that two different PCs
with two different NICs are having the same trouble, then most likely the
trouble is with the Amiga, the cabling, or the hub. It's extremely
unlikely that there would be a *design* defect in the RealTek cards
preventing it from hearing the Amiga.
Note however, that NICs vary with respect to polarity sensitivity. If you
swap the wires of a pair within the cable, some NICs won't care and some
NICs won't hear the signal. Thus, replacing the card with a different
brand might point to a bad card when the problem is really the cable.
Be especially careful if you make your own cables. It's easy to get a
couple of wires swapped.
