This is realated to the rear stub axle question i asked about last time. I'm going to pickup a wrecked corrado this weekend hopefully, but the right rear brakes were quite damaged and only had the stubaxle left. i need to get a wheel on this side just so i can get the car on trailer and tow it home.
I have a spare brake drum (from a '90 GTI 8v) with the bearings still in it. Would i be able to mount the brake drum on the stub axle for the disk brakes (without any of the drum backing hardware). Just to be able to mount the wheel, and get the car to roll? dont the rear disk and rear drums use the same bearings, so shouldnt this work? hope i'm making sense. -Denis
