Ah, the arrogance that oozes forth from a few of the most vocal
advocates and authors of Catalyst. That for me is one of the main
reasons I avoid it and vaguely wish for it not to succeed. (Which is
too bad, because I'm sure most of the folks responsible are quite nice.)
That, and the baggage it carries from the various directions it has
lunged in over the years (NEXT, plugins, BindLex, ...) has left the
signal to noise ratio too high for me.
With the rise of the wonderful Plack/PSGI as well as the ala carte
CPAN availability of many other aspects of Catalyst -- Path::Router,
CHI, Config::Any -- the imperative to adopt Catalyst has been greatly
and thankfully reduced, paving the way for smaller, more tailored
frameworks.
