Wow, it's good to read al this info abour mr. Loce.
We traded once with him and at the time his explanations seemed plausible, but after reading all these horror stories we will definately stay away from him. We did not trade inserts with him, but a few one sheets, French posters, and lobby sets from Spain and the US. The 2 fake items were clearly identifyable as repro's. All other items were okay. We know this because of our gained knowledge and experience as collector's and sellers and because we were also able to compare about 90% of the items to originals we already had in our collection. I agree with Bruce that we all must be warned about the minty white inserts, lobby cards etc. but also please be aware that not everything that's like new and unused could potentialy be fake. The last thing we need is a witch-hunt. 90% of our lobby sets from the eighties till present day come from theaters and warehouses where they usually were stored in stacks without any signs of use and/or markings, stamps and/or writing on the backs. Most reproductions of lobby cards we know are clearly identifyable as such because they are usually darker, granier and have loss of details in the images. This was also the case with the two fake sets from Loce. The problem does get bigger as they start using the original prints for the reproductions. When I have more time I will post images of the original sets and the fakes ones on our website.
Thanks for all the info folks, keep up the good work and have a great day.
Ron
