To > me that too is cheap, so who do you trust? It's a tough one, you are correct. I was bein' mostly silly, but I think Tom and Bryan are on the right track on this one. We as consumers have become too accustomed to taking quality for granted, low price or not. We gotta start knowing what questions to ask, and that's where this kind of communication comes in. Hey, there's plenty of resources out there to educate yourself before you make a purchase, and if more people used 'em, more mfgrs would see the effects of producing crap hardware. That's how I decided on my car, I went online and I found that, for the money, I just couldn't do better than a Subaru (for my budget anyhow). Found out there were people out there drivin' Suby's with 500K and nothing but oil changes and new brakes and tires on 'em. Same goes for burners, any hardware, go online, see what other people's experiences were/are, ask on these lists, when you buy something and it turns out it's garbage, tell everybody you know. We got tha powah! LOL! Oh, and as to your main point, ya, stay away as far as you can from prepackaged cookie-cutter systems like Dell and Compaq.
