John, I just removed the vga=bla line in my default choice (win4lin in this case) and I get a lovely black screen;) The first lilo choice screen is still graphic (I left vga=normal there) but when it starts booting it goes out of the frame-buffer on the default choice. The options with a vga=788 or 791 (I've been too lazy to change those too) stay blue, excepting Linux-nonfb of course.
