How far have you progressed then with the router? Are things working?
Not really a problem when using the router. It "hides" the changes from
the local lan. The Belkin router acts as a DNS server for the local
network, as well as a DHCP server. So the DNS and gateway will be
192.168.1.1, unless you change the network address in the router
config. One feature missing from the Belkin router is being able to
assign a fixed IP based on MAC address. The Linksys and D-Link routers
I have used both offer this. But you can set the lease time long enough
that your box will still have the same IP, even if you turn it off at
night...
