Yes, I found the message right after I responded to Ani.  I will re-visit
the soft links and see...I may have been doing something wrong.  It kept
giving me an error message.

Regarding the -version....  When I was uanble to get XFree86 -version to
work, I tried X -version, and I still got several screenfuls of stuff.  I
think the reason is because of some things I've done and haven't gotten
reversed yet.  I'll try to clean some things up and see what it gets me
before I revert to another HD wipe.
