I'm not sure what you mean with "source code written, compiled and linked ... Xorg"). The X client runtime is exactly the same on both; the server is different but by and large implements the same feature set (with the exception of DPS on SPARC and XDAMAGE on x86) Or perhaps you are thinking about OpenGL which is still a bit problematic?
