You might want to read the SSLeay license, putting another copyright on
that code is not allowed.
As for BSD/advertising dicussions, the SSLeay license is characterized as
"BSD with copyright." It's not pure BSD, and so whether or not the
current BSD license has an advertising clause is not relevant.
