Well, that seems to be the only realistic option for you except or else
then another option like Crypto++.

Interest certainly. But if your read Richard Salz's message, you'll see
that the problem comes from the libeay code in the core of openssl
that's copyrighted by Eric Young and * *Tim Hudson and will never be
rereleased under a new license.
