Acrobat 6 isn't licensed to be run as a server. If you want to run it that way, you must get a license for each station.
We do have a license for each station, as well as the one doing the Distilling.
So you might as well normalize locally.
In a production setting, where files can run into the gigabites, the most efficient way to work is to get the normalizing off of you production machines (especially using Classic, where there is no multithreading) and let the a high end server handle the normalizing. You can get a pretty good server for less than $3000, and it does not take much saved production time to pay for it.
I don't think there is any font license issues because the font is only present in the PostScript data of the document for which it was originally intended.
