The "frenzy" is not recent, nor does it center on the new toy. It is a
PENTAXIA frenzy and nearly anything can cause one, including the many
disappointments over this or that camera over the past four or more years.
Somewhere out there a Pentaxian grieves because the MZ-S is not a robocamera.
Some have even mourned the passing of the 1/8000th sec shutter and 1/250th
sec flash sync.
Others on the list, ecstatic that PENTAX finally put out a "serious" PENTAX
"heritage" type body in the mold of LX, ME, MX, Super Program, will crow like
Roosters and sulk when some snippy-sniping N**** shooter points out its
shortcomings.
Some have even added to the furor, inferring that they are finally jumping
ship, "going over" so to speak to the "dark side" because of their
disappointment in the MZ-S.
Want to wager that the MZ-S won't jump off the shelves like its less
glamorous siblings have and do?
Wait until the "frenzy" thread starts when a PDML list member finally gets
one of their own. The list will fawn over them and the new "baby" for weeks,
or at least until another list member gets theirs.
Already one can sense the next frenzy: the frenzy when PDMLers begin (loudly)
suggesting (campaigning) for the new features that MUST be added in the new,
improved MZ-S(n) [due out in November, 2001].
