Hi Artur (it's strange writing in English to you but probably better
than trying to decipher the so-close-but-so-much-different
language(s)).

You know, the mysterious quotes here on list like "the 645 was the
most durable pentax produced, it never needed servicing" and similar
are really disheartening when I look at the price of one! It would be
very nice though. I hope even the P6 will get to me, it's not yet a
deal :(

Back to LX - I got one hell of a good deal I think, I bought a new
edition body (around 1993 produced? dunno), unscratched, in
excellent cond. for 16000,- KC (that's around 500 Euroes). The body is
in really good condition, and came with the original LX leather
case... Needless to say, with my luck, just days after getting it I
managed to tear slightly (accidentally) the plastic foil protecting the
bottom plate, which survived almost 10 years use from the first owner
;-) (I did it by putting on a QR plate which twisted slightly, the
rubber on the QR tearing the foil).

As to accessories - they are VERY hard to find. There was one grip, as
the last accessory I saw in pretty long time. Before, a motordrive.
Years before, screens, motors, finders, but all quite scarce. When I
raise enough money more I might be able to get the motor, from the
same guy, if he still has one fs when I have money, that is :-(

But I like the LX immensely (so far none of the dreaded LX problems,
*knocks/wood*), I sold off all the AF stuff I had. Now saving up for
the new screens which Peter imports from Japan. And the motor. And the
grip. Ah ;-(

It was all easier when I had only a 6x6 Rolleiflex Tessar with its
non-changeable lens!

Back to your question - I got probably the last body the guy was
selling (he had 6 of them!!! Various age and style and condition, all
working though). I have since seen only one LX for sale, which was
ridicolously priced at 1100 Euroes with lens (although, that one was bought new
in 1995 and kept in a padded case since, with only tens of rolls
trough it if I am to believe the seller, and the cosmetics support his
claim, so does the look at the shutter curtains).

So I guess the LX market is about as small as in Poland :(
However, 67 (and many other MF) gear is turning up in surprising numbers -
do all the guys who shot it got digital backs or what ?!?

Good light,
   Frantisek Vlcek
