I've found the Wayback Machine versions of Commens to be slow. I don't know
whether the Wayback Machine versions of Commens are more durable than the
original Commens version. If they're more durable, then maybe it'll be because
somehow some database-oriented code gets neutralized, or some database files
simply aren't copied and pasted into the Wayback Machine, but what do I know
anyway.

Unfortunately, that was also offline recently, but it is back up and
running now.

I notified Mats Bergman and the others in charge of commens.org that it's
been offline. Mats replied that he's got it working again but it will
crash again eventually. They've moved on to other things and no longer
update it. But they would still like to keep it accessible.
