Rommel,
I agree that there are membership matters that need to be discussed.
Even though plug has been in existence for about a decade, the legal
aspect is still young -- i.e., things need to be threshed
out...defined...approved.

======================

Board members,
Congratulations and may you have a good year ahead of you!
Who's the president? Vice? ....which company are you currently
connected with? Pls intro. It would be nice to have all these details
plus the plans (when they're ironed out already). I'm sure these
details will promote PLUG membership.

Maybe the board can hold an organizational meeting (or a series of it).
You might want invite those who want to help out. Just define the
agenda per meeting so people can know when to join and when not to join.
Docs/info can be disseminated prior to the meeting so those interested
could prepare already and for the meeting to be more "meaty".

As for getting hold of old board documents, I'm not hopeful on that.
it's also good to start with a clean slate. We have some interesting
inputs here already for the board members to chew on. The ball has
started rolling, so to speak. I also have a concern about the quorum
definition. You may might to determine which member has "voting"
power...or maybe even have a different quorum definition when the CBL
amendment is concerned. It's a challenge to attain a quorum in a GA
especially when there are lots of members who reside outside metro
manila.

======================

How many PLUG-related mailing lists are there? What are the different
linux groups in the phils? Can a kind soul like them out again here?
Maybe we can have a blog instead where anyone can
contribute/participate.

Sammy

Currently we don't have an advisory board as we didn't have access to
the documents that declared such. However, I think it's within the power
of the PLUG president to appoint committees - and an advisory board can
be created whose membership would comprise of former PLUG board members
until such time that such body can be formalized via constitutional
amendments. What do you think Marvin? :)

He's part of the current board :)

The membership forms (dead tree edition) are with Ian afaik. Hopefully
when the board reconvenes early next year we could talk about how would
we be using the forms :) There are still a couple of issues that would
need to be resolved - one is the forming of a membership committee to be
comprised of PLUGgers who'd be evaluating applicants seeking membership.

I think that already looms with the power vested to the president of
PLUG if I'm reading the constitution right. Then again, IANAL.

I wasn't appointed secretary until Saturday so I wasn't able to post the
proceedings of the GA of 9 October 2004.... but anyway...

The current composition of the PLUG board was formed during the GA of
9 Oct 2004 held at Asia Pacific College. Currently the board is
comprised of the following individuals:

Marvin Pascual
Ian Sison
Diosdado Calmada
Ariz Jacinto
Christian Masancay
Paolo Falcone
Eric Pareja
Lito Lampitoc
Mike Liguit
Sherwin Daganato

QSR is serving as the secretariat for this fiscal year.

We've yet to ascertain how many are the current members - we'd need the
confirmation of those who were past members of PLUG (having paid the
dues and ID fees in the past prior to the formation of the current
board). To confirm, please email Marvin Pascual or Ian Sison.

Thanks
