I do have issues with audio files streamed from a squeezebox server or
nas located downstairs. Anything of 192kbs+ and it can't cope.

Live 320Kbs streams will dropout after a few seconds or sometimes fail
to start. On-demand 320kbs can have a significant delay before starting
and thereafter the stream is interrupted every 10 -30 seconds or so.

However, I have a homemade solution. After a hard won argument I have
been granted permission to fit a chain of (tasteful) RJ45 sockets to
connect the dead room to a mesh node in another distant upstairs room.
After successfully testing this out with metres and metres of cable I'm
convinced this plan will work. Or it won't and I'll be sleeping in the
doghouse for the next 6 months.
