My experience with the delays is that it has nothing to do with the communications side. It appears to be Denon's internal logic. The commands we use over IP are the same that are used over serial. They are asynchronous but still have timeouts. The Denon's just seem to get busy or confused. I think the underline logic is not the most up to date.
