The vote gives the populace the illusion that they have some kind of control
over politics. The electoral college really chooses the president - and the
elections are rigged, anyway.
Does anyone else have the same fear I do - that Bush will orchestrate
another 9-11 so that the country is in a state of "emergency" at the time of
the elections? I've heard that there is some kind of provision whereby if
such is the case, the election process would be suspended and the current
president would remain in office for another term.
That would just be just the window he'd need to finish the conversion to
Fascism and declare himself dictator. On the other hand, I see it that it
doesn't really matter who secures the presidency. That person will be just
another puppet of the corporations, which have no use for such notions as
"civil liberties," "human rights," or "democracy" (another illusion,
anyway).
We are living in a world where the only ones with "rights" are the
corporations.
