I see someone else wrote, coincidentally, of that same presentiment. Bush is
not going to step down. He is getting away with vote tampering, genocide,
ecocide, torture, pre-emptive war, and illegal spying.
He defies the Constitution of the United States and the international Geneva
Conventions. He is accountable to no one and nothing. His actions go
unchallenged and uncontested.
Does anyone else notice how absolutely cocky he is? He is a malignant
narcissist - a deranged sociopath. He and his murderous confederates, Cheney
and Rumsfeld. We are slaloming towards totalitarianism. He's cocky because
he knows he is going to get away with his crimes - and because he's probably
got another bogus terror attack already planned out for election time.
We are facing another King George. We had to defeat the first one in the
American Revolution. Is there no way to defeat this one?
But, as I say, I don't think it would change a thing. Who was it that warned
about the rise of the corporations? FDR? Well, anyway, they have risen! It's
all downhill from here. Fascism is on the horizon. There will be no human
rights or civil liberties here - or anywhere in the world, ultimately.
A handful of people - in comparison to the world's entire population -
control the world's wealth and power (the two go hand-in-hand, of course).
They're pillaging, plundering, raping, torturing, and murdering the planet
and all life on it. And no one stands up to them.
I am an animal rights, environmental, and human rights activist. And we are,
indeed - as another poster put it - going to hell in a hand basket.
We're poised at the River Styx - and Charon awaits in his boat.
