jgg, Shaped charges have been around since WWII. As with any military technology, it has undergone improvements over the years. I am not saying that no weapons manufactured in Iran have not found their way into the hands of insurgents in Iraq. Some for political reasons, some just because weapons sales is a big and profitable business. But, the implication that IED's USING shaped charges are somehow so sophisticated they could ONLY come from Iran, or a similar country is simple ridiculous. I simply gave you a definition of what an IED is, OF COURSE there is a difference and variation of types and their effectiveness. A bi-plane old crop-duster is an aircraft, as is a F-18 Hornet is an aircraft.
