Keith, for 35 years I owned and operated an investigation agency with 12 operatives. We never used guns and we had many of them pointed at us. We worked in every neighborhood in southern California, including Watts. None of us were ever harmed. We knew how to solve any situation without violence. I have faced down 15 men on two occasions without having to use a gun or resort to violence. I have stood up to robbers and murderers without being assaulted. It is not un- American. I am not opposed to others who want to own or use guns. I just have never found a need to do so. I have disarmed two visitors to our hospital without violence. When we have a Code Grey I arrive on the scene and immediately bring the hostile person to a peaceful mindset because of my training. I know that most people find this to be alien to their experience. Certainly the staff at the hospital do not understand how I do it, they just know that I can do it. Anyone can do it, but they have to surrender the mind set of violence as a solution to any problem. When they do that, they are able to see the obvious solution. Sometimes you don't have to kick the machine, just plug it in. :-) Dik
