KIT,

Oh I understood what you said. I simply stronly disagree with it.
Are YOU attempting to suggest it is Un-American to NOT solve
potentially dangerous situations with firearms? Please take note I did
not suggest either option was Un-American. YOU took it upon yourself
to offer the personal opinion as to what was un-American, not I.
Where the fuck did I even mention law-enforcement officers?
That would be true only if burglers knew, or strongly suspected, the
homeowner had firearms and knew how to use them. You do realize that
the vast majority of burglaries take place when there's no one at home
to use said firearms. In fact burglarizing un-occupied homes is a
common way for criminals to obtain firearms.

Why do you have your panties all wadded up over the idea that someone
would suggest firearms are not the only, or even the first option, in
dealing with confrontational situations? Why has gotten you so riled
up? I'd HATE to have to kill someone just because I had neither the
skills or inclination to resolve the situation any other way. The
pistol I always carry with me I regard as a LAST RESORT to save me
from serious harm or death. Why would I want to kill a person I did
not absolutely HAVE to? And no, I would not kill a human being over
material property. I have insurance on my property.
