Julia put her forehead against his and looked at the box. She had asked
Rachel, that's why she knew Kat was scared of her and thought....
She lifted her gaze and then lifted the box a little, the edges of her lips
quirking "Wanna... put it on me?"
If it was one thing she could say about everything - it was that Nick and
her relationship broke just about every conventional rule. Die, love,
refuse to cross over because of that love and missing him like crazy - with
him unable to let go of her on this side, cast an ancient holy spell, come
back, make love, propose, fight demon, get the ring because a nurse was
hassling her and now here they were in a hospital bed doing the engagement
ring thing.
"We're better than the three stooges." she whispered, chuckling as she gave
Nick the same run down she had just thought as she reached up with her other
hand and stroked his cheek and kissed him lightly on the lips
======
Nick took the box out of her hand and opened it. He groaned as he got off
the bed and got on a knee in front of her. He took her hand in his and the
ring in his other. He looked straight up into her eyes, "now lets do this
the right way and forget the fact of where we are right now" he added with a
small laugh.
"Julia Walker, will you do me the honor of marrying me?" he asked as he slid
the ring on her finger.
He knew it must have looked funny him on one knee in jeans and no shirt with
bandages on his ribs and her sitting on a hospital bed but he didn't care.
He was going to make this right considering all they had just been through
together.
