Philip thought for a moment, looked at Kat then turned back to Alex "Yup."
They had finished putting Derek to bed and Patrick stretched "Well I'm off
te bed.. I suggest th' rest of ye do the same."
leaned over and kissed Alex on the cheek, whispering "And dunnae think ye
got away wi' nae eating. I'll be by later with somethin'."
Then he straightened and ruffled Kat's hair and patted Nick on the back
before peeking at the clock, calling out an old saying as he left "Ten
o'clock an' everythin's right wi' th' world."
Then so Julia heard him from whever she was, be it downstairs or already in
her and Nick's room, he called out "Good night, Julia. Welcome home!"
(Awwww...that's so cute.:-)
Alex shook her head at Philip, "That's very sweet," she said softly, "but
missing one meal won't kill me." She gave him a warm hug. Her stomach was
still doing tap dances and she didn't feel up to eating just yet. "Sleep
tight."
"And as for you," she said to Kat, "it's way past time for you to be in your
pajamas. And look at poor Tuffy he has big circles under his eyes."
Kat sighed, she was tired, but didn't really want to go bed. "Okay," she
agreed, but she wasn't thrilled about it. She hugged Alex and scurried off
to her room where she changed into her favorite pajamas.
After everyone had left Alex sat down on the edge of Derek's bed and watched
him for a moment. He was already sleeping peacefully, as far as she could
tell. She tucked the covers around him and gently brushed a stray lock of
hair out of his face. He'd been through worse, but this had looked pretty
gruesome for awhile. Alex just there watching him sleep for awhile.
