Alyssa was quiet for a moment.  "I was playing with Alex and then..." what
had happened?  "I was looking at teh roses.....and my head started to hurt
real bad."  She sniffled slightly.  "And the sun hurt my eyes."  That was
all she could remember.

Derek picked up a small cloth Alex must have been about to use and folded it
"Well just lay down and close your eyes."

He then set it on her forehead and mentally sighed.  He remembered when he
was a child and had tried to block the Gift.  Same resulting pains...
