Alyssa jumped at the unexpected touch.  Hers eyes opened and she squinted
and Derek.  He seemed to be far away surrounded by fog.  "Did you find my
mama yet," she asked her voice almost a whisper.

"Alex can go check with my friend if you'd like." Derek assured her quietly
as he felt her forehead.

"Alyssa, I'd like to ask you something." he moved to where he was pulling
one of the chairs from the front of the desk and sitting in it in front of
where she lay  "Do you.. see things? Like dreams but you're awake?"
